Job Description and Requirements:
|
Brief job description: Responsible for the maintenance and repair of all vehicles in the district fleet in order to assure the safe operation of the district transportation department; performs scheduled and unscheduled repairs and maintenance on district vehicles; keeps accurate records of work performed; assists other service technicians when needed; frequent lifting 5 to 50 pounds, occasional lifting up to 75 pounds; occasional sitting, and crawling, frequent extensive walking and climbing; constant bending, squatting, standing, reaching, kneeling and stooping; performs other related duties. Specific requirements: Specialized classes beyond high school with minimum three years on-the-job experience or one year experience plus graduation from an accredited automotive, diesel, and or a heavy equipment technical school; vehicle maintenance knowledge on diagnosis and repair of gas and diesel engines, transmissions, suspension systems, steering systems, brake systems, electrical systems, drive train, and computerized systems; knowledge of mechanics hand and power tools; must be willing to obtain within the first month: Department of Transportation Brake Inspectors Certificate; Colorado Drivers License; Opacity Inspector License; CDE Inspector Certificate; Defensive Driving Certificate; CPR/First Aid Certificate; CDL AP2S.
